Harold Devoy "Bum" Hoover, 83, of Asheboro, NC, passed Thursday, September 1, 2011, at his residence. Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Outen officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Native of Randolph County, Mr. Hoover was born April 21, 1928. He was the son of the late Jule and Emma Pierce Hoover. Survived by his wife, Connie Maness Hoover, of the home; daughter, Janet Hoover Mintz and husband, Greg, of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Tina Mintz Hiskett, of Seagrove, NC; great grandchildren, Barrett Hiskett, and Emma Hiskett. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
