Mattie Elbertson Yates, age 78, of Gordontown Road, Lexington, NC died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral will be held on Friday, December 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will follow at Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 20th, 2018 at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Born September 2, 1940 in Randolph County to Tillett Elbertson and Lena Briles Elbertson. She is survived by her husband Glenn Allen Yates of the home; a son, Deffie Yates and wife Tammy of Lexington; grandchildren, Shana Elbertson and husband David, Elaina Boyd and Alex Garner, Tyler Yates and wife Emily; 9 great grandchildren.
