Christina "Chrissy" Joann Briles, 11, after six months of illness at Riley Hospital, went to be with Jesus at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday in her home surrounded by her loving parents and brothers. Christina had such a sweet spirit. She was a brave little girl and a trooper through her illness. She was kind, sensitive, polite and caring.
Chrissy would have been a sixth grader at Lakeview Christian School and was a good student. She attended Lakeview Wesleyan Church. She loved her family and friends, basketball, softball, swimming, riding on the motorcycle with her dad and spending special times with her brothers and especially time with her wonderful mom.
Before her illness Chrissy was involved with "Kids of Praise" and was a member of "Pride Patrol" at Lakeview Christian School and was involved in the Children's Church activities at Lakeview.
She is survived by her father, John D. Briles and mother, Jill L. Briles, both of Marion; brothers, Matthew (Priscilla) Briles, Andrew Briles and Stephen Briles, all of Marion; nephew, Jayden; beloved pet dogs, Ginger and Chancey; special aunts, Marge (Denny), Cindy (David), Linda, Tisha (Brad); uncle, Jeff; and many cousins, great aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Herbert and Helen Smith and paternal grandmother, Martha Briles.
Services are at 1 p.m. Friday in Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 5316 S. Western Ave., with Pastors Gen Springer and Brian McSee officiating. Burial is in Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City and one hour prior to services Friday in the church.
We believe this lineage goes through James Melvin Briles who was married to Martha Stackhouse Briles
