Clarence "Dick" Weinzapfel, 89, of St. Philip, Ind., passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Bethel Manor.
Mr. Weinzapfel was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the Owls. He owned and operated the Weinzapfel General Store for 47 years before his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Loretta (Wannemuehler) Weinzapfel, along with two sons, Gary and Tim Weinzapfel, both of St. Philip, three daughters, Carol Ann Money of Evansville, Judy Kissel of Wadesville, Sue Velotta of Philadelphia, Pa. Also surviving are two sisters, Estella Waibel and Anita Rexing, both of St. Philip, eight grandchildren, Kelly Birchler, Karen Crow, Jeff and Jenny Kissel, Eric and Matthew Weinzapfel, Lori Briles, and Katie (Velotta) Hartley, and six great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his five brothers, Syl, Edwin, Julius, Norbert and Jim Weinzapfel, four sisters, Cornelia Niemeier, Agnes Newton, Isabelle Dugan and Helen Martin, his grandson, Donny Weinzapfel, and son-in-law, Larry Money.
Funeral services for Mr. Weinzapfel will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church., Rev. Tom Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
