Lena Briggs Beck, 92, of Davidson County, passed away August 31, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. Visitation will be held at Davidson Funeral Home on Sunday, September 2, from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral will be held at Beck's Lutheran Church by Rev. Angie Jackson on Monday, September 3, at 11 am. Born April 2, 1920 to the late James Paul & Addie Mae Burkhart Beck. preceded in death by her husband James Paul Beck; and her brother, Arlin Briggs. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Dr. Richard Whitten, Carrollton, GA; three grandchildren and their fiancées, Richard Whitten, Jr and Amy Junne, Irvine, CA; Paula Beck Whitten and Oliver Doolin, Houston, TX; and Charlie Whitten and Katie Cerling, Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her three sisters, Ruby Delk Harris of Denton; Edith Briggs Honeycutt of Lexington and Wilma Briggs Byerly of Lexington; one brother-in-law, Clifford Beck of Denton and numerous nieces and nephews.
