James Homer Briles, 72, passed peacefully in the presence of family on Monday, April 2, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Corydon. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 5 at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown. Friends may call from 10 AM to 2 PM on Thursday prior to the service. Pastor Tim Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery with graveside military rites. Born in New Albany, IN on October 18, 1945, the son of Homer and Pauline Jackson Briles. US Veteran of the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred Briles. He is survived by one son, Bradley Watkins (Teresa) of Georgetown, IN; Daughters – Laura Briles of New Albany, IN and Shelley Haycraft (Alton) of Corydon, IN; Brother – Paul Ray Briles (Sandy) of Georgetown, IN; Sister – JoAnn Briles of New Albany, IN; Two Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild and several nephews.
